Something needs fixing? Let’s find someone local.

Post your job for free. One tradesperson who covers your part of Gloucester takes it on, and they’re the only one who gets your number.

Free to post, and only the tradesperson who takes your job on gets your details.

Free to post. No account needed. How we use your details

Only the tradesperson who takes your job ever sees your number.

Three steps, then they ring you

Here’s what happens after you post a job.

Step 1

You post the job

Choose the trade, the job and your postcode. Add photos if you have them, as they help a tradesperson quote properly.

Step 2

One local tradesperson takes it

We send it to tradespeople nearby who cover that work. The first to take it on gets it.

Step 3

They get in touch

They contact you to arrange a quote. If nobody takes it on, we tell you, and you’ve paid nothing.

Your number goes to one person, not a call list

On some sites your details go to several firms at once. Here, each job is sold once. The tradesperson pays before they see your details, so the only person who calls is someone who’s chosen to take your job on.

It stays up as long as it’s usefulUp to two weeks for work in the next week or two, a month if there’s no rush.
If it goes quiet, we’ll tell youWe email after a few days, sooner for emergencies, and you can cancel in one tap.
Emergencies go out by textUrgent jobs are texted to local tradespeople straight away.

What we check before someone can take your job

Every tradesperson goes through a business check first. Here’s exactly what it covers, so you know what else to ask.

Limited companies

We check the company number with Companies House and make sure the name given matches an active company.

Sole traders

We review the public liability insurance certificate they upload.

What you should still check

Our check confirms a business exists. It doesn’t cover qualifications or the quality of past work. Gas work must be done by a Gas Safe registered engineer, which you can check on the Gas Safe Register. Ask for a written quote before any work starts.

Gloucester, and about fifteen miles around it

Tradespeople set how far they travel, so cover thins out the further out you are. Not on the list? Post anyway. If nobody local takes it on, we’ll tell you.

Who runs GlosFix?

GlosFix is run from Gloucester by Scott Woodfield, through TWA Marketing Ltd. It was set up because finding a tradesperson online had become more complicated than it needed to be.

More about GlosFix

Nothing. Posting a job is free. Tradespeople pay for the job, which is why only one of them gets it.

That depends on how many tradespeople cover your trade and area. Emergency jobs are sent to local tradespeople by text straight away. If nobody takes your job on, we tell you.

It comes off the board once the time that matches your timing has passed, and we email you. You pay nothing. If the budget looks like the sticking point, we’ll say so and you can post it again.

They go to the one tradesperson who takes your job on, at the point they take it. Nobody else sees them. Our privacy notice explains how long we keep them.

Limited companies are checked against Companies House, and sole traders upload their insurance certificate. The section above explains what that does and doesn’t cover.
