How GlosFix works

Post what needs doing and we pass it to local tradespeople who cover your area. Only the one who takes the job on ever sees your contact details.

You post the job

Choose the trade, the job and your postcode. Add photos if you have them, as they help a tradesperson quote properly and fairly.

You also choose how long the job stays up: a week, two weeks or a month. You can cancel it at any time before then.

One local tradesperson takes it

We send it to tradespeople nearby who cover that work. The first to take it on gets it, so there is no bidding war.

Emergency jobs are sent by text straight away, day or night. Tradespeople pay more for these, so please only choose it if the work really cannot wait.

They contact you

The tradesperson who took the job gets in touch to arrange a quote. If nobody takes it on, we tell you, and you have paid nothing.

We email you after a few days, sooner for emergencies, and you can cancel in one tap.

Why only one tradesperson gets your details

We sell each job once, to one tradesperson. They pay for it before they see your details, so the only person who calls you is someone who has chosen to take your job on.

Nobody else sees your name, number or address, and we do not pass them on. Our privacy notice explains how long we keep them.

What we check before a tradesperson can take jobs

Every tradesperson on GlosFix goes through a business check before they can buy a job. This is exactly what that check covers, so you know what else to ask.

Limited companies

We check the company number with Companies House and make sure the name given matches an active company.

Sole traders

We review the public liability insurance certificate they upload.

What you should still check

Our check confirms a business exists. It does not cover qualifications or the quality of past work. Gas work must be done by a Gas Safe registered engineer, which you can check on the Gas Safe Register. Ask for a written quote before any work starts.
